Wasserstein & Co. employs a unique approach to leveraged buyout investing:
executing upon a strategic vision to help businesses anticipate and adapt to
change. It is our goal to help lead portfolio
companies through elemental forces of change, whether as a result of
regulatory, technological or financial factors, or arising out of
globalization, the natural pursuit of economies of scale, or otherwise.
We have extensive experience in helping companies anticipate and react
appropriately to the secondary and tertiary effects of change on a business.
Our analysis involves a detailed evaluation of a company’s fundamental
strengths and vulnerabilities, and the current and future competitive
environment in which it operates and will operate. An outgrowth of this
process is the formulation of a strategic vision based upon the forces of
change that will come to bear upon the business in question. Wasserstein
& Co. then utilizes its full resources in the execution of this strategic
vision, which may involve supplementing management or other personnel,
establishing joint ventures or other business relationships with key partners,
establishing more efficient or appropriate capital structures, or completing
strategic acquisitions.
The Firm’s resources include networks of relationships with business leaders
resulting from our historical investments across a wide range of industries, as
well as the financial and operational expertise of our team of seasoned
professionals. Wasserstein & Co. also benefits from its heritage as
an integral part of the historical Wasserstein Perella & Co. investment
banking firm, and our continued association with our former colleagues from
that firm, many of whom are now leaders at other leading financial
institutions.
