Knowledge Network We believe our extensive access to relevant people and information, and our network of relationships, is unique and unmatched by any other comparably sized firm. This access provides a distinct competitive advantage in generating investment opportunities, performing due diligence and creating and realizing value in all of its investments. Because of the family office heritage and over 100 years of collective investment experience, we have established close relationships with senior personnel across nearly all major financial institutions and many important strategic firms in our targeted industry sectors of media, consumer products and water. Additionally, before Wasserstein & Co. became an independent firm in 2001, the senior partners were partners at predecessor firm Wasserstein Perella and established close working relationships with many partners of the firm who today serve in senior leadership positions across most major Wall Street firms and in other industries. Although our primary targeted investment sectors are media, consumer products and water, our unique access to people and ideas allows us opportunistically to pursue other investments that fall within our knowledge network, where we possess unique access or insight arising out of personal relationships, a specific strategic or competitive advantage developed through industry or professional relationships, or special knowledge concerning the company or its industry, including trends and industry dynamics. Moreover, because of our broad and deep network of relationships, we are frequently asked to partner with other investors in situations requiring a high degree of trust and a high level of general investment expertise.
