Our investments in the consumer products sector have included Harry & David (gourmet food/fruit gifts), Mastercraft (luxury motor boats), Maybelline (cosmetics), All-Clad (luxury cookware) and Odwalla (natural beverages). We typically target consumer brands that have a long operating history, a unique or compelling brand positioning, a loyal consumer following, and attractive growth opportunities. Most consumer products companies that we target also require revitalization or brand focus initiatives. We have deep experience in these areas, which may include: updated packaging or brand imagery, improved marketing and promotion efforts, brand extensions to capture market share adjacencies, divestment or closure of non-core brands or businesses, or other initiatives.
